A focus on a harvesting diorama with the UH Tucano combine

 |
This 7810 conversion uses the Wiking John Deere chassis. The cab is a modified Britians 7920 with roof lights donated from the UH McCormick MX175 which have been set into the roof line. The floorplan, rear fenders and cab steps are scratch built from polystyrene plastic. The John Deere is fitted with a PMA front linkage. The bonnet is from an old cheap plastic Ertl 7810 model which has been narrowed with rectangular and square diamond lights embedded into the front grill. The rear wheel centre casts are from the Ertl 956XL International. The Wiking mirror and cab interior add that extra detail. Rear diamond work lights have been added and the tractor have been lightly weathered to complete the realistic look of what was a classic tractor.

Fendt 824
|
Woren down front tyres, rusted exhaust dusted cab glazing are just some of the weathering changes made to this Weise Toys Fendt 824. A grey pastel has been rubbed onto the rear fenders to create that old plastic look. To seal the weathering permanently a coat of clear satin varnish is applied using an airbrush which has also toned down the green paint giving that older look. Claas Altes
|
A transformed UH Atles 936RZ which is based on the Wiking Claas Axion. The UH bonnet and cab have been placed on the Axion chassis with a few little tweaks. To keep the high level of detail I have used the Wiking cab interior and mirrors. The conversion has been weathered including the diesel spills on the fuel tank.

An closeup look at part of the farmyard in more detail. Woren weathered wheels and tractor weights, fencing items, a heap of stone, rusted galavanised sheeting, hedging and grass all make up a typical yard scene. This is part one with a detail look at the shed in the next update.

A weathered Keenan Orbital Spreader with realistic muck. The muck inside is damp clay mixed with some peat moss, sawdust and sisal rope for the straw effect.

A cutdown truck body is the base for this old rusted flatbed bale trailer. The modified Britains fertiliser bags, sand bags from an army kit along with self made ones from modellers clay. The Irish fertiliser decals are self made and were printed on clear vinyl.

A heavily weathered Case International which has a Joal front axle and Valtra S wheels fitted to complete the look realism. Rust effect has been achieved by gently applying soft pastels onto to exhaust and cab steps before airbrushing clear satin varnish to seal everything
